Marching Phoenix
The award-winning Marching Phoenix has a rich tradition of excellence. The band has received an overall superior rating at every single marching competition since 2018. The Marching Phoenix have won multiple best in class band awards as well as several Division and Grand Championships.
Symphonic Band
The SHS Symphonic Band is an advanced concert band that performs Grade V-VI literature. The Symphonic Band has consistently earned Superior ratings at GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluation in both stage performance and sight reading.
Phoenix Jazz Band
The SHS Jazz Band meets in the Spring semester and performs 1-2 concerts a year. This group plays a variety of swing, blues, and latin jazz, as well as pop and rock arrangements.
Percussion Ensemble
The Phoenix Percussion Ensemble plays medium-advanced literature and performs on 2-3 concerts each year. This group meets during the 2nd Block percussion class with limited after school rehearsals.
